Belectric Announces Two Grid-Scale Energy Storage Systems in UKFebruary 17, 2015German solar developer, Belectric, has announced that it will develop, construct and operate two large-scale battery energy storage systems in the UK. One of the systems will be co-located with a 3.8 MW ground-mount PV system, and the other will be in the grid. The systems are part of the Enhanced Frequency Control Capability (EFCC) project which is led by The National Grid.

Large-scale lead acid energy storage added to 68MW PV plant in GermanyDecember 09, 2014PV developer Belectric has recently announced that it has deployed a 2MWhNP lead acid battery Energy Buffer System (EBS) at its 68 MW plant in Brandenburg, northern Germany. The PV plant came online in 2011. The addition of energy storage will now improve the plants integration into the grid, and will allow it to provide ancillary services to the grid.
