Perovskite solar cells – Promises and expectations for the third-generation PV technologyOctober 21, 2019Since their invention 10 years ago, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have shown a dramatic increase in conversion efficiency compared with other so-called third-generation solar cells. In 2018, some laboratory tests found that a single-junction PSC cell could reach up to 23% efficiency. Its technology has benefited from developments carried out for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) and organic solar cells (OSC), also called organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells. New MIP regulation opens the European market to global module imports and begins the end of the stagnation of PV installations in EuropeOctober 23, 2017On September 16 2017, the European Commission (EC) approved the new regulation for minimum-import-prices (MIP), which is expected to slowly remove the existing trade barriers for solar cell and module imports from China and Taiwan. IHS Markit anticipates that the step-wise reduction of the minimum import prices is likely to lead to some delay of project realization towards the second half of the year.Subscribers Only
